The Caridina Caerulea is found mainly in the hard substrate (wood, rocks, but also occasionally in soft substrate, such as macrophytes). 
The body is transparent yellowish or reddish, antennules reddish, bluish legs and beak.The most obvious color profile (pattern) is visible in the tail fan (telson and uropode consists, in turn, from esopodite and endopodite), each endopodite (the branch of the outer fan) has a patch of blue on the distal part elongated. The females produce from 16 to 32eggs .
