Carinotetraodon lorteti

Carinotetraodon lorteti
Red Eye Puffer
Carinotetraodon lorteti possesses the ability to change colour depending on its mood or surroundings. It's easily distinguished from its close relative C. irrubesco , by the absence of a red tail.

Puffer fish are so called as they have the ability to inflate their elastic stomachs with water or air. This is usually a response to some kind of threat, although in the aquarium many specimens appear to inflate themselves for no apparent reason. The fish swells to two or three times its normal size, big enough to scare away many potential predators, or make the puffer appear too difficult to swallow. Puffers are also one of the few fish that can actually blink or close their eyes.

饲养时不适合太强的水流 和红尾娃娃极为相似,尾巴颜色以及头顶斑纹与红尾娃娃不同。
