This colorful Nothobranchius hails from Tanzanice, East Africa and until comparatively recently had not been described and was therefore known only by its location number TZ 83/5. Like most killies, the male is the colorful member and in this case sports a brilliant red tail with a flush of colored in the dorsal and anal fins. The female is a drab olive green with a lighter underside.
