Aphyosemion australe

Aphyosemion australe
Golden Lyretail Panchax
One of the first killifish to become popular in the hobby and still a favourite today, Aphyosemion australe is an ideal introduction for newcomers to these fish. It's beautiful, easy to breed and relatively long-lived. Unlike many other killis, it's usually found in bodies of permanent water and is not an annual species. Many different colour morphs exist, including the wild chocolate and "Cape Lopez" forms, as well as several aquarium-bred varieties such as the popular golden and albino strains.
